A joint PSA-Dewberry/Dewberry team was one of 14 Washington, DC area design and construction firms that participated in the 4th Annual Northern Virginia Canstruction® Competition. Canstruction® is a national community service project of the design and construction industry and is organized in the DC area by the AIA Northern Virginia Chapter, Ballston Commons Mall, and the Arlington Food Assistance Center under the auspices of the Society of Design Administration. Each team created a themed public sculptural display assembled from canned goods that will ultimately be donated to the Arlington Food Assistance Center. PSA-Dewberry's design depicted a surfer who has fallen off his board and was titled "Can You Wipe Out Hunger?" John Gegen, Assoc. AIA, along with several members of the Fairfax and Baltimore offices planned and built the sculpture which was on display in Ballston Commons Mall from March 31 through April 14.
